The Gold Series has proven itself to work very well in paper scrap applications, where horizontal cartridge collectors have failed because of fibrous dust and strands bridging between the cartridges. It is customized to accommodate the fibrous nature of dust. The vertical cartridge design works better and Camfil Farr APC is one of the few companies that can handle paper scrap well.
The Gold Series, with its cross flow inlet design and vertical pleated cartridges, keeps the material from bridging, especially in processes such as book binding, printing and corrugated box board production. For paper slits, cutoffs and extremely fibrous material, nylon overbags can be installed on the cartridges to prevent bridging and wedging in the pleats as well.

New NFPA Standard
In 2008, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has changed their explosion protection guideline to NFPA 68 Standard on Explosion Protection by Deflagration Venting. Companies that handle paper and scrap are heavily impacted by this development.
